Growing up skiing at White Pass watching Phil and Steve Maher tear up the slopes, Matt  Hagen had delusions of adequacy which he has nearly achieved after five decades of practice. A classically-trained photographer (i.e.  working at small community newspapers in his misspent youth), Matt now splits his time between photographing dudes in suits (corporate freelance) and skiers climbing mountains.  He also runs the occasional ultramarathon.

At Skimo events you’ll most likely see him when you least expect it – or want him to – typically when you’re sweating up a bootpack or wiping out into a treewell.
